At this point in 2020, we are all looking for some new places to spark up dinner. We have all cooked from home much more than usual. The favorite pizza place and local pick-up or delivery service has become routine. So, how about we try some new local favorites and support our local restaurants across the Wasatch Front.
Salt Lake County – 5370 South 900 East – Italian Village
Offering Take-out and Dine-in Service – This place was one of my High School hang-outs – so it is safe to say it has been around for a while. My personal favorite menu item is the Pizza Benders with sauce to dip it in. Share a salad with their house dressing which comes with Garlic Bread and it is great treat. The lasagna is highly recommended by my better half. Pick-up is Easy so it can be a safe alternative during our current restrictions. The website has a Take-Out Menu for convenience.
Salt Lake City – 645 South State – The Bayou
This Cajun pub is a local Salt Lake favorite as well as one of my personal choices to go with friends. Open for TAKE OUT Only the past several months. It’s a perfect option for that “something” different for dinner and they have made it very easy. Just Call ahead and Pick-up at the Curb. I highly recommend the “Red Beans & Rice” and my hubby loves the “Jambalaya.” The “Gumbo” is another favorite. They have a very extensive menu so if you are not a fan of Southern Cajun food, you will still have some great options with the Fish Taco’s, Fried Chicken & Ravioli. If you really want to make it a date night, order a few appetizers to start the night off right – or maybe even dessert.
South Jordan – 11274 Kestrel Rise Road – Porch Restaurant
I L O V E this location. It is just the perfect patio seating. I’ve spent most of my years in Utah, but a few outside of the state include some time in Kentucky – so I am always on the look-out for some good southern food. The “Shrimp & Grits” take me back and I crave them on a regular basis. Family favorites include the “Meatloaf,” & “Mac & Cheese.” But before Y’all go anywhere, make sure you order some of the “Pimento Cheese” and a “Pickle Jar.” I just can not say much more – except call and order from the Family Menu for take-out and level-up your dinner plans. Order from the Happy Hour or Lunch Menu and #SHOPINUTAHDEALS buy one get one! Yum!
Bountiful – 3211 Orchard Drive – Thyme & Seasons
If you are looking for something unique and different this is it. I could describe my favorite items – go with the salads for lunch and for dinner they are well known for steaks – but they don’t have a standard menu and often the Chef creates unique and wonderful one-of-a-kind dishes that you will wish you could have again. They offer take-out and dine-in and I am confident you will not be disappointed in this choice for dinner any night.
We are lucky to live in not only a beautiful area, but one with many amazing local food establishments. I highlighted just some of my favorites, spread geographically across the Wasatch Front.
